Charlotte Season 2: Will It Ever Air?

Hey Guys, in this blog we will be discussing Charlotte Season 2. Charlotte is a 13 episode long Anime that came out in 2015. But since then 5 years have passed and there is no sign of Season 2. The worst part about this. The anime has left its fan on a cliffhanger. But some fans think the anime may return this year as it will be the Five Year Anniversary of the Anime.

Plot:

The story of Charlotte Revolves around 4 students, who have some special abilities. These four students live in an alternate reality from Hoshinoumi Academy. Hoshinoumi Academy is a special school. It was created in order to protect children with special abilities. Moreover, they search and protect children with special abilities throughout Japan.

The Four central characters are –

1.  Yū Otosaka – He is a boy with the power to control another person, but only for 5 seconds.
2.  Nao Tomori – A girl who uses her power to become invisible to one person she chooses.
3. Jōjirō Takajō – A person with the ability to move extremely fast. So fast that It looks like teleportation.
4. Yusa Nishimori –  A girl who is usually possessed by her deceased pyrokinetic sister, Misa, due to her ability as a medium.

About The Anime (Studio)

Charlotte is a 13 episode long Anime that came out in 2015. But since then 5 years have passed and there is no sign of Season 2. The Original Run was from July 4, 2015 – September 26, 2015. Clannad and Angel Beats get the credit of creating the screenplay of the Anime and Jun Maeda was the author. This anime falls under the gene of Supernatural, School, Comedy, Drama, Romance.

The project was a joint effort of Aniplex, Key, and P.A. Works. All of them together managed to bring the original character designer Na-Ga. Also, Yoshiyuki Asai gets the credit for directing this anime project. Furthermore, he is also the director of Fate/Apocrypha.

Studio’s Previous Work.

Aniplex is very popular. It is known throughout the Anime Community for the production and distribution of a few amazing anime. Some of the most popular names include – Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Boruto, Plastic Memories, Seven Deadly Sins and the list goes on and on forever.

P.A.Works also gets the credit in creating Charlotte. P.A. Works is not as popular as Aniplex but they have created some amazing anime too. Like – Angels Beats, Another and few more.

Charlotte Season 2.

Well, season 1 was a huge success and fans just love it. The fact that season one ends on a cliffhanger makes the path for season 2 clear. Moreover, there are few plot holes in the series. These could be easily fixed with a new season.

Charlotte is well known for all those popular meaningful anime quotes in it.

In March 2016, an OVA of Charlotte came out. OVA episode called “Record of the Future” was bundled as part of the limited edition of the Blu-Ray/DVD. Unfortunately, Crunchyroll is streaming the first 13 episodes but not the OVA episode.

The story writer Jum teamed up with artists Haruka Komowata to create the Charlotte manga series. The manga came to an end in January 2019. But it was never translated to English officially. There are minor changes in the manga and If Charlotte Season 2 were to happen, the anime sequel can’t use the Charlotte manga as the source material for a direct continuation.

Release date

As there are no updates on season 2. No news about Charlotte Season 2 release date came from Aniplex, Key, and P.A. Works. No word about the production of Charlotte sequel has been out.

Moreover, we will update the blog Once the news is officially out. In the meantime, our speculation suggests that season 2 of Charlotte is not coming anytime soon.
