This anime comes under the comedy/mystery genre which is a quite rare combination to play with because when the mystery is not taken seriously the suspense is left with no effect.

So far there hasn’t been any information from the creator Yasutaka Tsutsui nor the director Tomohiko Itō. CloverWorks have provided any information on this as well, this is probably because they are too focused on all the top-notch anime they are currently working on.

CloverWorks has a bad history of not continuing amazing animes which fans would kill to watch.
