Dororo was first released on January 7, 2019. The production company were Mappa and Tezuka Production. The plot centered around Hakkimaru. He is born without limbs or facial features. The truth behind this lies within the pact between his biological father, Kagemitsu Daigo, and the demons.

Just before the birth of Hakkimaru, Kagemitsu had offered his firstborn to the demon. In return, he was promised prosperous land and power. He is disposed of the river, but man expertise in prosthetics adopts him. There is a way to get back his limbs and senses and be a human. But for it, he has to destroy all the demons. Hakkimaru leaves to hunt demons and meets Dororo under the circumstance.

Dororo sees Hakkimaru killing a Demon. Dororo is an orphan and is often kicked and beaten up for his mischief. Little Dororo is awed by Hakkimaru’s skills of killing a Demon decides to follow him. Hakkimaru can only see through the color of the soul.

Dororo Manga

Dororo is originally a Japanese manga from the late 90s. Osamu Tezuka had written and illustrated the manga. Previously the manga was serialized in the weekly Shonen Sunday magazine of Shogakukan back in 1967. Later the manga continued in Bōken’ō magazine of Shoten till 1969.

The manga consists of four volumes. Further, the manga portraits Hakkimaru differently than his character in the anime.

Dororo Game

Did you know the plot of Dororo has also inspired a video game? Blood Will Tell is a game released in Play Station 2. Sega released the game back in 2004. The game is based on the character portrays in the manga and not from the anime. The character of Dororo is of a thief following Hakkimaru as his ally.

The game goes as Hakkimaru is required to defeat all the 48 demons. In return, he gets back his senses one by one as he goes around defeating. The plot follows as Jyukai teaching him to fight such that he can fight them. Hakkimaru meets Dororo while saving people from the hands of a demon. Then they later join hands to continue their journey.

Dororo Season 2

Dororo Season 2 is one of the highly anticipated anime after the release of its first season. Season 2 of Dororo is expected to include the adult journey of both Hakkimaru and Dororo. The previous season reveals the gender of Dororo. She keeps on pretending as a boy. But we come to know she did that to avoid unnecessary attention.

In the end, Hakkimaru decides to forgive Kagemitsu Daigō in the temple of demons. He decides to move on with the birth crest. Dororo believes her Anikel will return someday. In the meantime, Dororo aims to utilize her wealth wisely. She is committed to rebuilding the lives of the people around her.

Biwamaru believes there is something more than blood and despair for Hakkimaru and Dororo. We see a glimpse of grown-up Dororo running towards Hakkimaru on the bridge they met for the first time.

Maybe after that, they will continue their journey to exorcise more demons and help Hyakkimaru regain all his lost senses and limbs. Dororo starts embracing her feminine side more and starts looking like a girl. The Duo will probably go on more adventures and help the people who are being oppressed by the feudal lords.

Dororo Season 2 Release Date

Dororo Season 2 Release Date is still not mentioned from any official sites. The previous season of Dororo was released in 2019. And till now, we haven’t any update about the Dororo Season 2  release date. But we will keep you informed as we receive any hints of its release date.

Where to Watch Dororo Season 2?

Dororo Season 1 is officially available on Amazon Prime Video. It has 24 episodes of the journey of Hakkimaru and Dororo fighting demons. Therefore the Season 2 is also believed to be available on Amazon prime when it releases.

Dororo Season 2 Manga Comparison

In the Dororo manga, Hakkimaru is not at all affected by his missing body parts. In the anime, he lives his life more confidently. But in the anime, he portrays a wave of anger, knowing his parents had traded him to the demons.

There are characters such as Mio who develop a romantic side for Hakkimaru. But in Chapter 8 of the manga. Dororo and Hakkimaru leave behind Mio to continue their journey. There is a massive difference in the character portrayed. In the anime, Biwamaru repeatedly warns Dororo of Hakkimaru turning into a demon and losing control. Nonetheless, Dororo selflessly sticks to him.

There is also a scene where Hakkimaru is blind in the rage. He comes to know how his father had, unapologetically abandoned him for power. Hakkimaru even leaves behind Dororo, who has been with him through thick and thin. However, in the manga, Dororo is partially selfish, follows Hakkimaru only to steal his sword from him, and symbolizes superior status.

The characters differ in the manga and the anime. The manga features additional characters. Therefore it is one of the anime adaptations that preferred to differ from its original plot.

Dororo Season 2 Predictions and Spoilers

At the end of the previous season, Dororo finally figures out how to utilize the wealth left behind. If Dororo Season 2 is released, we might see the matured Dororo building up the village from scratch. Give the people around her the hope to live away from their sufferings.

Furthermore, the fans are excited to see the reunion of  Hakkimaru and Dororo. We can expect a happy ending for Dororo and Hakkimaru. But with the plot twists we experienced in the previous season, we can’t be certain of anything. All we can do is wait for further details about the release of Dororo S2.

Will Dororo Season 2 ending be similar to the Original Ending?

The first Season of Dororo did not follow the manga as it is. Keeping the characters the same, there was a lot of difference in the personality. As for the last chapter of the manga, it ended where Dororo was still a kid.

Expecting the next season will be the journey of their adulthood. It may not be wise to assume that that the end will be anything similar to the manga. Watching the anime has made me realize the personality of the characters has more depth.

Season 2 of Dororo will continue after Hyakkimaru left Jukai. Jukai wanted to die after all his actions and the war crimes he committed. Dororo Season 2 will be broader in terms of the ending. There also might be multiple interpretations of the ending if it follows the manga. It would be exciting to see how they pull it off.

Dororo Season 2 Cast

The series cast has not been revealed. The plot of the anime has made the fan anticipated more. The anime had all the genre needed to keep our senses engaged. All of us are waiting for more of Dororo and Hakkimaru.

Suzuki Rio and Suzuki Hiroki play Dororo and Hyakkimaru respectively. And probably they will keep on doing so in the next season as well. The Season 2 of Dororo reboot will be as good as maybe even better than the first season of Dororo.

Furuhashi Kazuhiro will probably still be the director for Dororo Season 2. This will more depend on if MAPPA will be continuing with the second season. Fans are pretty excited about the second season and also how the relationship will grow between Hyakimaru and Dororo. Dororo will learn more about her real family and her real strength.
